- ➤ On Monday, Dec. 8 at Government Plaza, Mobile County commissioners rejected Waste Management's plan to nearly triple the Chastang Landfill's daily capacity and import garbage from nearby states due to longstanding resident opposition and fears of the facility becoming a dumping ground. AL.com
