- ➤ The Mobile International Festival—featuring food, music, and dance from many cultures—will take place Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mobile Fairgrounds, offering families a chance to explore local heritage and global traditions. AL.com
- ➤ A Mardi Gras-themed license plate is proposed for Alabama drivers to honor Carnival traditions and support local groups; pre-commitment orders have been available since Nov. 1 with production planned if 1,000 buyers sign up by Nov. 1, 2026. The design by Carol Danieli features a mask, Mardi Gras text, Est. 1703, and a faint Mobile skyline outline— a nod to local pride. AL.com

- ➤ Birmingham’s airport had fifteen flights cancelled Saturday and twelve Sunday as FAA orders cut more than 2,500 weekend flights amid the shutdown; Mobile Regional Airport lost six flights Saturday and four Sunday—officials warn further cuts will come Tuesday and Friday if the shutdown continues. - ➤ In Alabama high school football playoffs, Theodore beat Stanhope Elmore 44 to 27 as quarterback Crishon Overton scored six touchdowns and Baker advanced after Jailen Speedy Wheeler ran 80 yards for a score and two more; Semmes, Williamson, and Jackson also won to set up second-round contests while Providence Christian was eliminated in the Class 2A playoffs—each result moves teams closer to a state title.
