  • Joseph Mason of Mason Hills Farm in Grand Bay started a nonprofit called Farmers in Action to help people get high-quality protein by using local stores in Grand Bay and Ocean Springs, Miss.   • Homeschool advocate Jennifer Ludy wrote to state education officials seeking public clarification on Alabama's law for non-public education—stating that homeschooling does not require registration—and urged the creation of an Office of Non-Public Schools to reduce confusion among families.  1819 News

  • Today, several Alabama Gulf Coast cities are holding historic mayor swearing-ins and public celebrations—Bay Minette elects its first Black mayor, Robertsdale greets its first female mayor, Spanish Fort will honor a local veteran, and Mobile swears in a new mayor after a decade-long absence.
