  • A large fire damaged the Midtown Mobile campus sanctuary of 3Circle Church earlier this week, but church leaders said community service in Dauphin Acres will continue—stressing that the church is about the people and not a building.  Lagniappe Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Alabama Forestry Commission has issued a fire danger advisory because of drought and warns residents to wait for rain before burning outside. Auburn University experts recommend checking local rules—like burn bans—and using safe practices such as keeping fire pits free of debris and having water ready to quickly extinguish any flame.  Gulf Coast Media
  • Robert Akridge is stripping the 500-foot Argosy VI casino boat in Bayou La Batre so that it will be sunk in the Gulf as a fish haven for divers and fishermen—he said the project took four months and will depend on weather and sea conditions.  WKRG News 5
