  • Nearly 600 runners participated in the 16th annual Prodisee Pantry Turkey Trot in downtown Daphne this morning to help fund meals for over 11,000 Baldwin County families. Prodisee Pantry officials said the fundraiser will provide traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas meals even if that means reassigning funds—ensuring food for more families amid the government shutdown.  UTV 44
  • During a drive in Mobile, a 5-year-old girl rolled down her car window to give a homeless man a colorful picture at an intersection, which reminded him of a lost child, while her mother later said the act was very dangerous.   • Officials in Louisiana, Vermont and Virginia pledged to keep SNAP benefits flowing if federal funding stops, while Alabama has not released its plan and faces a November 1 deadline.   • Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen has released a tutorial video called 'Business Basics: Structures and Business Filings' to help small business owners fill out their paperwork.   • St. Michael beat Orange Beach 49-7 on Friday night to improve their record to 9-0—marking the first time in team history and securing first place in 4A Region 1. The Cardinals will host UMS-Wright Prep on Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. while Orange Beach ends the season at 4-6.  Gulf Coast Media
  • No. 4 Alabama beat South Carolina 29-22 as a last-minute touchdown by Germie Bernard secured the win—boosting the team's record to 7-1 and keeping it perfect in SEC play.  1819 News
