- ➤ Prichard Fire Rescue Department has announced its sixth annual Fire Angel Toy Drive—titled Stuff the Fire Truck—to collect new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations to help 200 Prichard families this holiday season. Applications for assistance run November 10 through November 21 while donation drop-off sites at 303 W. Turner Rd. and 4446 High Point Blvd in Eight Mile accept contributions daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until December 18. NBC 15
- ➤ Neighbors in Mobile’s Marchfield placed skeletons with hand-lettered signs along Japonica Lane to highlight safe turning after Thigpen Road closed for a traffic study on Oct. 14 — the study ends on Oct. 28. Residents have gathered nearly 400 signatures and plan to attend City Council meetings to fight the change since drivers face risky conditions on Cottage Hill during rush hour — raising concerns over more accidents. - ➤ Patricia McCormick spoke last Thursday at the Fairhope Public Library — discussing her career, her book 'Sold,' and questions over youth access to challenged materials as state funding remains on hold.
