  • The Gulf Coast Challenge was celebrated over the past three days in Mobile — starting on Thursday with a career fair and a concert, followed on Saturday by a downtown parade, tailgating and a football game at Ladd Peebles between Jackson State and Alabama A&M where dance teams and marching bands showcased their talents.  UTV 44
  • Chef Rayza opened Rayza's Restaurant in Daphne where he serves dishes that mix flavors from his international journey with local tastes. He and his wife Laura chose a small former sandwich shop to share their mission and tasty food—drawing food lovers from across Lower Alabama.  AL.com

  • The Dauphin Island Bridge rehabilitation project has begun with a budget of $33.7 million and will cause delays for drivers heading to Massacre Island—construction work is set to continue over four years.  Lagniappe Daily
  • Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall joined a coalition of 16 attorneys general in questioning tech giants like Microsoft, Meta, Google and Amazon over their claims to use 100% renewable energy. The group warned that reliance on renewable energy certificates conceals heavy fossil fuel use and could threaten grid stability—prompting calls for clearer energy reporting.  Gulf Coast Media

  • The Bayside Admirals dominated the Hillcrest Jaguars with a 56—6 win at their homecoming game as they built a big lead from the start. They will host Cottage Hill Christian Academy on Oct. 10 for 3A Region 1 control while Hillcrest faces Monroe County on the same day.  Gulf Coast Media
