ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Meteorologist Jack Cullen (NWS) warned that hurricane season remains active and Mobile residents should keep their plans ready as active systems swirl in the Atlantic. He noted that while the Gulf Coast has not seen a major storm yet, a new storm could form soon.  1819 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday night, Alabama beat Georgia 24-21 in a close game where Ty Simpson passed for 276 yards with two touchdowns and ran for a score—handing Georgia its first home loss in six years. Coach Kalen DeBoer said the win marked progress as Alabama earned its third straight win and may climb the rankings.  Alabama Public Radio
  • UMS-Wright coach Sam Williams led his Bulldogs to a 29-6 win over T.R. Miller Friday night by using a fast-paced and physical game that earned the team 206 rushing yards. He said his plan to win more games is to stick with an offense that plays hard—an approach that could help the team in future playoffs.  The Call News
