ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A man from Grand Bay died when a pickup truck—driven by 46-year-old James Born Jr., who was not wearing a seatbelt—collided head-on with an SUV early Saturday on US Highway 90 near the Mississippi state line, and crews closed the road for hours while clearing the scene. WKRG News 5
- ➤ At about 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, a head-on collision in Baldwin County between a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze and a 2021 Lexus RX 350—driven by a 15-year-old with one injured passenger—resulted in the Cruze’s driver and passenger being pronounced dead while the Lexus passenger was airlifted for treatment. - ➤ Citronelle Firefighters responded to a heavy fire that severely damaged a Mobile County home on Earlville Road Saturday at about 12:30 p.m.—no one was hurt and the cause remains unknown. WKRG News 5

- ➤ At 10:00 a.m. Sunday, Mobile police responded to a shooting on the 5000 block of Quail Run E—finding a deceased male victim before taking a suspect into custody as the investigation continued. UTV 44
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ AL.com launched its Rising Tides column today to help Amtrak travelers and locals explore key downtown spots like the busy crosswalk by the train platform and the redevelopment at Bienville Square. The column shows Mobile’s mix of old history and new growth as visitors enjoy local coffee shops and historic markers. AL.com

- ➤ Robertsdale native Joshua McKee is a decorated veteran and former Green Beret with a Bronze Star who announced he will run to replace Barry Moore in Congress to help small businesses, veterans, and promote conservative ideas. McKee, who got his voice back after a brain tumor and served at the Pentagon and DARPA, said his global experience helps him fight for Alabama—promising an America First, Alabama First plan. 1819 News
