Mobile filmmaker Jesse Starling will premiere his first feature, Unsteady, at the Crescent Theater (208 Dauphin St.) today at 3 p.m. and tomorrow at 6 p.m.; tickets cost $16.67 and are available online.

All local post offices will close on Monday, Sept.
7 in observance of Labor Day, though select locations will offer self-service kiosks (for postage printing, package tracking, and more); regular mail service will resume Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Baldwin County pulled away from B.C.
Rain last Friday night at Bay Minette after a 14-14 tie at halftime turned into a dominant second half run in which the Tigers scored 26 points to clinch a 40-22 season-opening win. Quarterback Ray Johnson led with six touchdowns during the game.
St. Michael's Cardinals lost 41-18 to Battle Ground Academy on Saturday in Fairhope as their starting quarterback, Gunner Rivers (who sustained a leg bruise), left the game while Bo Bryan led his team to a strong victory.
The game drew national attention from ESPN.
Junior quarterback Anthony Gill led Vigor to a 28-7 win over Blount at Ladd-Peebles Stadium Saturday night — he threw for 177 yards and three touchdowns while the team overcame numerous penalties to extend its winning streak.
