CRIME NEWS

  • A fight broke out shortly after midnight Wednesday at Love Bistro and Lounge on Dauphin St. in Mobile when a woman accidentally bumped into a man, triggering a confrontation that led to one woman being taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries—37-year-old Santrice Bullard was arrested on a charge of second-degree assault.  WKRG News 5
  • On Sunday, August 10 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Mobile Police responded to a shooting near St. Francis Street and N. Franklin Street where one man was taken by vehicle to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and a second man arrived by personal vehicle with minor injuries — several vehicles were struck by gunfire while investigators continue speaking with witnesses.  UTV 44

  • Twenty-five years ago, the Mobile-built Confederate submarine CSS Hunley, the first to sink an enemy ship in 1864, was raised from the Atlantic off Charleston — after being lost for 131 years — and its eight crew members were later honored with a respectful burial.  1819 News
