- ➤ Prism Systems is moving its headquarters to downtown Mobile with a $6.4 million investment at Dauphin and Broad streets that will create 52 high-wage jobs and retain 44 current positions. CEO Keith Jones said the move will draw top engineering talent for the firm that builds controls for major theme park rides, with construction set to begin in September and operations shifting in April 2026. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The historic Ace Theater, built for African American audiences during segregation where tickets cost less than 17 cents, is set to reopen at 501 Congress Street as home to Mobile’s Excelsior Band for jazz education and community events. The $3.5 million project is expected to complete around early 2027—preserving an important piece of local history. WKRG News 5
- ➤ Crews in Mobile have begun dismantling the historic S.S. United States and are now preparing to remove the crow's nest — the ship’s 65-foot forward funnel was removed earlier on Monday for preservation. The Conservancy plans to use the preserved funnels in a museum and parts of the vessel may form an artificial reef. UTV 44

- ➤ Senators passed the Illegal Red Snapper and Tuna Enforcement Act—intended to stop cartel-backed poaching by requiring tests to verify fish origins, and the bill now awaits House approval. - ➤ Alabama commemorated the 235th anniversary of the U.S. Coast Guard at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park where Mayor Sandy Stimpson, Coast Guard officers, and Rep.
