- ➤ Fairhope Brewing Company announced that its downtown Mobile pop-up on St. Louis Street will be converted into a permanent location and rebranded as Fairhope Brewing Company, Mobile. The site will close on Monday, Aug. 11 for renovations and reopen on Friday, Aug. 15 with more comfortable seating and expanded private event spaces — a change made after a successful 18‑month trial period. - ➤ Mobile police arrested 37-year-old Amber Lindsay at Dollar General on 3266 Dauphin Street around midnight Tuesday after she allegedly tried to steal items and threatened an employee with a concealed gun from her purse — officers later located her car and took her to Mobile Metro Jail. - ➤ Mobile Police Department is searching for 72-year-old Francis Grover—last seen near the 500 block of Davidson Street—because she has a medical condition and is deemed endangered. WKRG News 5
- ➤ Mobile police on Friday afternoon identified the man killed in a shooting in the 400 block of Earle Street at 2:46 p.m. as 24-year-old Cameron Madison, who died after being taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound — the investigation remains active. AL.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Alabama Department of Transportation will start Phase 2 upgrades to electrical and lighting in Bankhead Tunnel on Monday, August 4—work will require nightly closures beginning Tuesday, August 6 and a full weekend closure from Friday, August 8 to Monday, August 11 as motorists use alternate routes; completion is expected by the end of 2025, weather permitting. - ➤ School resource officers from Baldwin and Mobile counties finished a week of specialized training—covering mental health, first aid, and active shooter responses—to improve safety in schools before classes begin. Sheriff Lowery said the program also focused on building community trust and strengthening relationships with students and parents. WKRG News 5
