- ➤ A new $600,000 playground opened Wednesday morning at Figures Park in the Toulminville community after children helped design it in a community meeting. City Councilman Cory Penn and Mayor Sandy Stimpson said the park — with features like ziplines, slides and swings — will help local kids get outside and be active. WKRG News 5

- ➤ The Foley Planning Commission has recommended approval to build a new BJ’s Wholesale Club on a 14-acre site one block east of South McKenzie Street.
