- ➤ Mobile Co Sheriff's Office said a suspect left a blue sedan (possible Nissan Altima) and robbed a victim at gunpoint near a Shell Station on 2112 St.Stephens Rd in Prichard at around 12:30 a.m. on July 19th before pistol-whipping him in the head and fleeing north on St.Stephens Rd (the suspect is described as a black male in his 30s–40s with short hair, a goatee, and a missing tooth). - ➤ Mobile Police are investigating a domestic incident on Reaves Street that led to a stabbing early this morning (just after 2 a.m.) where one person was hurt and no arrests have been made. WKRG News 5
- ➤ Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an armed robbery suspect after a Shell gas station incident on St. Stephens Road in Prichard around 12:30 a.m. Saturday — the suspect, a Black male aged 30 to 40 in black pants and no shirt, struck the victim on the head with a firearm handle before fleeing in a blue car possibly a Nissan Altima — and anyone with information should call 251-574-8633. - ➤ Local artists are invited by the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce to submit original, non-AI artwork for the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival's official 2026 poster and t-shirt designs in Foley. Entries must include '22nd Annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival,' '2026,' and 'Foley, AL,' be submitted by Oct. 1, and reflect themes of hot air balloons, art and music—winners will receive a $500 commission and have their work used in festival promotions. - ➤ Hooded warblers are common in Alabama forests from late March and are known for their bright colors—males show a black hood while females do not—and loud songs that help beginners spot them. Researchers note that many nests have cowbird eggs and the birds migrate out by late October to winter in Central America. AL.com
- ➤ Anglers at the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo near Dauphin Island are helping scientists by letting Professor Sean Powers and his team sample and weigh fish and study ear bones to learn where they came from.
