- ➤ The 8th Annual Community Outreach and Back-to-School Bash – originally set for July 19 but moved to July 26 due to expected rainy weather – will run from 12-4 p.m. at 2523 Saint Stephens Road and will offer free school supplies, uniform vouchers, job and health screening resources, and classes in conflict resolution, parenting, and drug education. - ➤ Federal agents—HSI, ATF, and DEA—joined local officers to execute a search warrant at Foley's Colt Grill on Tuesday, arresting five people in a two-state probe of alleged money laundering, labor exploitation and human smuggling. Gulf Coast Media
- ➤ The district attorney’s office is investigating the fatal shooting of 65-year-old Patricia Odoms after officers responded to a reported assault on the 1500 block of Matzenger Drive in Mobile on Friday, July 4 at 12:30 a.m., found her with a gunshot wound, and took her to a hospital where she died on July 13 — police say no further details have been released. - ➤ A Mobile man — 21-year-old Joequarous Timmons — was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree burglary and felony probation violation after he and an unidentified man forced entry into a home on the 2200 block of Dauphin Island Parkway on July 7 by taking property at gunpoint, and no injuries were reported. - ➤ A Mobile man (28-year-old Victor Roland) was given a life sentence after a judge found him guilty of fatally shooting Derrick Carson on Middle Ring Road during the 2021 incident. WKRG News 5

- ➤ Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall secured an estimated $11.725 million from a national opioid settlement with eight drug makers over the next decade, adding to more than $300 million Alabama has already received from similar lawsuits.
