Wesley Britt, husband of U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, is set to serve as executive vice president at Daphne-based 68 Ventures after being named Monday.

He will work on business development and strategic partnerships to expand the company’s projects across Baldwin County and the Southeast.

Mobile County began work on a $6.5 million boat ramp at Cedar Point (designed to improve access to Mobile Bay and the Mississippi Sound) on Monday, with construction set to last about a year and include a two-lane ramp, finger piers, and designated parking.

Funding comes from a Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act grant.
