- ➤ The City of Foley welcomed more visitors by opening a new 73-room Cobblestone Hotel dedicated on June 10 at Koniar Way—located near the Foley Event Center and new pickleball and sand volleyball courts that promise to boost local tourism and jobs for residents. WKRG News 5

- ➤ Roy Miller, 25, was sucker punched by a counter-protester carrying a pro-ICE sign on Saturday, June 14, 2025 along Government Street as police responded to the scene, and despite his bloodied nose he said he did not regret attending the protest. AL.com

- ➤ In Bay Minette, the Mutual Aid Benevolent Association held a Juneteenth Celebration on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Douglasville School of Arts — the event featured music, dance, food and a Freedom Program; Mobile will host its celebration at Mardi Gras Park from 2 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, and Pensacola will hold Gallery Night from 5 to 9 p.m. on June 20 with art and live performances. - ➤ ALEA announced changes for CDL holders that will require electronic DOT medical certifications starting June 23 and will update the CDL Skills Test on July 1. The new test will revise the vehicle inspection section and add two new maneuvers in the basic control skills portion—changes that aim to improve road safety in our state. 1819 News
- ➤ Mobile has been awarded significant funding to support multiple affordable housing projects as the city prepares a new plan to expand affordable homes. City officials say the funds will help build more affordable options and further details will be announced soon. Lagniappe Daily
