- ➤ Fairhope Yacht Club hosted its 14th Cup Regatta as a fundraiser for Children's Hospital of Alabama—50 boats raced and there were fun activities for kids, a tiki bar serving mudslides, and a silent auction for adults. Local coordinator Kerrie Benson said the event raised funds that helped support over 2000 patient visits last year from Baldwin and Mobile counties. Gulf Coast Media

- ➤ ADOC officials are searching for escaped inmate Shaquille Keshon Brown, who was reported missing Monday, June 9 at 6:00 p.m. from the Mobile Community Based Facility and Community Work Center in Prichard—he was serving a 20-year sentence for robbery. UTV 44
- ➤ Mobile police arrested two men—Kevin Nock and Edward Howard—after a foot chase when a stolen vehicle was reported outside Fonny’s Lounge on Andrew Road at around 4:10 a.m. on June 7, as a victim said his car was taken after keys were left inside. WKRG News 5

- ➤ Mobile City Council heard from Rodney Toomer, program director at Mobile Inner City Mission & detention officer at Strickland Youth Center, who played a recording of a high-risk youth and offered solutions such as more school counselors and community partnerships to reduce violence, following a heated discussion on Tuesday. Councilman William Carroll asked for more time to hear the full proposal and committed $5,000 to support the initiative. 1819 News
- ➤ Bay Minette mayor Bob Wills announced he will run for another term and credited major infrastructure upgrades—like the new Novelis aluminum plant and revitalized downtown projects—that have boosted the city since his 2012 election. He said his team will update the comprehensive plan to manage growth ahead of the Aug. 26 municipal elections. Gulf Coast Media
- ➤ Mobile City officials said Tuesday that the civic center project remains on budget even after moving $150,000 from the Capital Project Reserves and another $150,000 from the Civic Center Marketing fund to expand the parking deck—adding sidewalks and security upgrades. The parking deck has a $38 million budget and the arena is planned for completion in early 2027. 1819 News
