- ➤ The Mobile Parks and Recreation Department will host a Juneteenth Jump Off 3-on-3 basketball tournament on June 18 at Sage Park from 3 to 6 p.m. for local teens with food trucks, vendors, inflatables & U.S. Coast Guard activities, while the City of Mobile Events Department will hold a free family celebration on June 19 at Mardi Gras Park from 2 to 5 p.m. featuring a live DJ, line-dancing, games, crafts, and free hot dogs and hamburgers while supplies last. - ➤ On Sunday, Mobile County experienced three shootings and two stabbings that left five people dead and two injured — law enforcement agencies are still investigating the incidents. WKRG News 5
- ➤ On Sunday, June 8th at 10:06 p.m. — Prichard Police responded to a reported stabbing at an apartment complex on Wolf Ridge Road where witnesses heard cries for help and the victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the head and neck before South Flight transported them to a Pensacola hospital in critical condition. - ➤ A 25-year-old man who fatally shot his mother on Ross Street in Mobile was shot and killed by his brother after he fired at another sibling — police said — Sunday at 5:39 p.m. AL.com
- ➤ Mobile police said on June 8 at around 6:30 p.m. at One Ten Apartments that an argument turned violent when a daughter’s former roommate stabbed 22-year-old Joirdan Jones—who later died—as her mother was injured while they gathered Jones’ belongings. WKRG News 5
- ➤ On June 8th at about 7:35 p.m., deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at 4071 East Markris Circle in Eight Mile where James Suggs was shot in the neck and later died, and investigators later detained brothers Austin Wheat-Payne and James Wheat-Payne after recovering the firearm from their vehicle.
