CULTURE NEWS

  • Red Clay Strays, a rising band from Mobile, were named Country Power Players Groundbreaker 2026 by Billboard and will release their new album (Grateful) on June 5 with an arena tour planned soon after. Their mix of rock and country is winning fans locally and beyond.  AL.com

  • A recent analysis shows that nurse anesthetists are the highest paying career in our state, earning a mean annual wage of $189,120 (according to May 2025 BLS data).   • A new aggregate yard proposed by the Rogers Group (a construction firm) near Old Plateau Cemetery and the Africatown Welcome Center is set for review at Mobile’s Planning Commission meeting on June 18 (with local advocates urging strict safety measures to mitigate environmental risks).  AL.com
