- ➤ Paradigm Investment Group filed a federal lawsuit against Hardee’s on April 14th, claiming the company wrongly issued a termination notice on January 15th to force 62 Alabama restaurants to adopt new operating practices such as mandatory online ordering and extra fees. The suit blames forced operating hour changes and executive turnover on harming its long-standing business model—claims Hardee’s disputes. AL.com

- ➤ A south Alabama teacher from Collins Rhodes Elementary School in Prichard pleaded not guilty after being arrested on May 6 for allegedly giving a 4-year-old a drink that left her with a nearly fatal blood alcohol level (she faces aggravated child abuse charges, is on administrative leave, and is free on a $25,000 bond). - ➤ On Sunday, officers responded at 10:19 a.m. on Pleasant Valley Road in Mobile when a woman was shot during an argument—she was taken to a hospital and another woman was arrested for first-degree assault. WKRG News 5
- ➤ Ardis Perez — a Mobile man — was sentenced to life in prison for the 2021 murders of Dwan Williams and Andre Carter when he shot into their vehicle on I-10, and his co-defendant Keith Richmond received a 20-year sentence after pleading guilty. WKRG News 5
- ➤ On May 25, 2025 at 2:44 p.m., a Citronelle man named John Mosley said he used a gun in self-defense after William Peavy Jr, who was intoxicated, turned violent during a dispute at his Langley Rd home — Peavy was treated for a shoulder wound at a local hospital as investigators continue to probe the incident. - ➤ Prichard police say two people were shot at Dollar General on 1645 St Stephens Road on May 25th after a dispute—where Teron Curtis and his girlfriend Lakenya Russell got into an altercation with a cashier’s family member—and officers have turned the case over to the District Attorney. UTV 44
