- ➤ Mobile County law enforcement announced Alabama’s first criminal enterprise indictment—charging a Mobile rapper and two Prichard men with drug trafficking under a 2023 anti-gang statute. Lagniappe Daily

- ➤ Governor Kay Ivey signed a resolution on Thursday honoring Mayor Sandy Stimpson for his loyal service in Mobile— the resolution praised his faith, prayers, and leadership to improve community life. Mayor Stimpson thanked the legislature and governor for their support— saying that serving his hometown has been the honor of a lifetime. 1819 News
- ➤ On Thursday, the Alabama League of Municipalities elected Fairhope Mayor Sherry Sullivan as president and Riverside Mayor Rusty Jessup as vice president during its 90th convention in Huntsville. They will serve a one-year term — representing over 450 municipal governments and working with state leaders to address legislative issues. 1819 News
- ➤ Earlier in May, the Alabama Supreme Court sided with Point Clear residents and upheld a lower court ruling that stopped RSA—the Retirement Systems of Alabama—from building a five-story project at the Grand Hotel building site. Lagniappe Daily
- ➤ On Friday (May 16), Sen. Katie Britt told FM Talk 106.5 that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers must dispose of dredged sediment in Mobile Bay responsibly to protect the bay and local commerce.
