- ➤ Coastal Alabama is welcoming new businesses as Aura Adventures has opened at OWA in Foley with glow-in-the-dark night kayak rides and real estate deals have brought Lanae’s large lease in Mobile, CPAP Plus’s new space in Foley Square, and three new retailers in Spanish Fort—Crave Cookies in Orange Beach and Gage’s Ice Cream in Gulf Shores are also now open. The city of Orange Beach has renamed the former Bear Point Cemetery as the Municipal Cemetery. AL.com

- ➤ Officers responded on Sunday at 8:05 a.m. to a home on the 3900 block of Driftwood Drive East where a man died in a domestic shooting—Mobile SWAT took a suspect into custody and reported no threat to the public. AL.com
- ➤ At his Florida beach house, Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville was swatted on Christmas Day 2023 when a fake call reporting a hostage situation with a ransom demand led police to search a gated resort community—this marked his second swatting incident amid questions over his residency as he eyes a potential governor run. - ➤ Nate Bargatze, known as the clean comic for his off-color jokes without profanity or sexual humor, will perform at The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach on Wednesday, July 16 at 7 p.m.—he is part of his Big Dumb Eyes World Tour. 1819 News

- ➤ The City of Orange Beach will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Margaritaville Resort at The Wharf on May 14 at 10 a.m. The 70-acre project will feature Margaritaville bars and restaurants, entertainment, a resort pool, cottages, condominiums, retail and meeting space, with developers, local dignitaries and community leaders offering updates — the first phase will open in 2027 — and the resort will be complete by spring. 1819 News
