- ➤ On April 15th at 9:04 a.m., Mobile Police responded to a theft in progress at Dollar General at 1310 Springhill Avenue—where a store employee confronted 30-year-old Nicholas King, who pulled a knife before fleeing and was later detained with no injuries reported. UTV 44

- ➤ The Alabama House passed House Bill 509, which stops state agencies from killing or testing deer owned by licensed game breeders unless a disease is found — the bill had 84 votes to 8 with nine abstentions — and it now goes to the Senate for review. 1819 News
- ➤ Foley City Council approved a lease agreement with Safe Haven Baby Boxes on April 8 to install Baldwin County's first baby box at the city's main fire station. Fire Chief Joey Darby said the system will go through a detailed testing phase before installation—drawing on a similar project in Mobile two months ago. UTV 44
