- ➤ Mobile firefighters battled a large woods fire off South Dauphin Island Parkway near Hannon Road on Friday as crews worked to slow the blaze and reduce threats to nearby homes — Alabama Forestry joined the response. NBC 15

- ➤ More than 20,000 blues and soul fans will gather today at The Grounds on Cody Road for the 34th Spring Fling festival. Organizers report a new layout, improved staff, and color-coded tickets and gates — all set to create a safer, more enjoyable day. NBC 15
- ➤ The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo welcomed two 8 month old white tailed deer, Ophelia and Jolene, on Friday, April 10. Guests can visit them daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. near the Contact Barn as they settle into their new home. Gulf Coast Media
- ➤ South Baldwin Community Theatre will present 'Anne of Green Gables' at its Gulf Shores venue from April 17 to 26. Performances will be held Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Gulf Coast Media
- ➤ The Hound Dog Music Fest returns April 25 in downtown Fairhope at the Halstead Amphitheater from 4 to 9 p.m. and will offer live music, food trucks, and fundraising for the Baldwin Humane Society + tickets cost $50. Gulf Coast Media

- ➤ Nearly a year after Lulu Gribbin called for a shark alert system, Alabama’s new Lulu Gribbin Shark Alert System becomes official Monday along the coast. The system in Mobile and Baldwin counties will send alerts to cell phones when an unprovoked shark attack is confirmed. AL.com

- ➤ The Alabama Stings will host a free youth camp for girls ages 5 to 17 today from 9:30 until noon at the Cottage Hill Park pavilion (supporting autism awareness, with t-shirts and bags provided). NBC 15
