- ➤ On Saturday, about 650 people attended the 15th annual Pancake Breakfast at the Harmon Thomas Community Center to raise funds for after-school programs run by the Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A multi-vehicle crash involving a commercial motor vehicle blocked I-10’s eastbound lanes near the 14-mile marker at 6:55 p.m. on April 6—troopers with ALEA are diverting traffic onto U.S. 90 and monitoring the situation. WKRG News 5
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Carnival Cruise Line announced today that it will resume year-round sailings from the Port of Mobile starting in spring 2027—an expansion following successful seasonal services and recent facility upgrades. The announcement came from company president Christine Duffy and highlights the local investment in the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal. WKRG News 5

- ➤ Alabama exports to China may face a 34% tax when China imposes duties on U.S. imports beginning Thursday, which could raise prices on goods. The U.S. China Business Council said the state shipped over $4 billion in exports last year plus included $1 billion in automobiles and car parts. Alabama Public Radio

- ➤ Mobile GOP invites the public to meet Chief Justice Sarah Stewart today during a meet and greet (5 to 6 p.m.). She will speak at the GOP committee meeting at 6 p.m. at The Grand Hall, 3556 Halls Mill Road (she was elected in November 2024 and took office in January). 1819 News
- ➤ Local transportation officials say more federal help is needed to move the I-10 bridge and Bayway project forward. They remain optimistic the project will progress soon despite public skepticism. Lagniappe Daily

- ➤ On Saturday, Auburn lost 70 to 73 to Florida in the Final Four and Alabama was eliminated by the Blue Devils in the Elite Eight while Houston stunned Duke 70 to 67. Houston will play Florida tonight for the championship. Alabama Public Radio
