  • A brush fire that started Tuesday, March 24 from a downed power line at Gulf State Park forced evacuations of local businesses east of Hwy+59 from Fort Morgan to Waterville USA and was controlled by emergency crews by Wednesday, March 25 with no injuries or structural damage reported.  Gulf Coast Media

  • Hundreds gathered on Wednesday at The Wharf at Portside on Main in Orange Beach to watch Survivor 50, and television star Boston Rob Mariano joined Jonathan Young to share behind‑the‑scenes insights and recall key moments of Young’s journey on the show.  Gulf Coast Media

  • Two Bayside Academy juniors, Sebastian Winstead and Cruz McMurry, were selected for Alabama Boys State, a leadership program where high school students simulate government processes.   • Lawmakers are considering bills to impose a one-year pause on solar projects in unincorporated Stockton — the measure would give local commissions more zoning control and protect Mobile Bay and nearby waterways.   • Performance Regattas Fast Eddie Cup is set for Fairhope Municipal Pier from April 10 to 12, featuring fast, spectator-friendly foiling sailboat races on identical BirdyFish boats.
