  • Mobile County’s largest Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 28 at three county parks, including Chickasabogue, Bayfront, and Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground, with more than 8,000 toy- or candy-filled eggs hidden.   • Spanish Fort firefighter Will Taylor was injured in a crash on March 9 and will miss work for several months as his department set up a GoFundMe page to help cover his medical bills (family and colleagues ask for community support).  1819 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A Foley family says Pine Rest Funeral Home did not order the headstone they paid $3,150 for in January 2024, leading to a complaint with the Alabama Board of Funeral Services and a police report. Area management is looking into the issue and expects delivery in six to eight weeks.  1819 News

  • The South Alabama Land Trust will host its 16th Annual Bald Eagle Bash on April 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Weeks Bay Reserve Tonsmeire Resource Center in Fairhope to support coastal conservation; guests will enjoy fresh Gulf shrimp, local craft beer and wine and live music from Tim Roberts Bearded Music.  Gulf Coast Media

  • Lawmakers and local activists are urging bills to impose a one-year moratorium on Silicon Ranch’s $350 million solar project over concerns it may harm wetlands and worsen stormwater runoff in North Baldwin County. Legislation is set to move next week plus a possible public hearing to include community input.  AL.com

  • Daniel Moody, who wrestled as DJ Pringle and was the son of local wrestling icon Paul Bearer, died Monday night at age 39, with his passing announced on social media Wednesday. His career on the Gulf Coast and independent promotions left a lasting legacy in Mobile.  AL.com
