- ➤ Legacy Leadership Institute — a program by the Area Agency on Aging and the University of South Alabama — will host a three-day event from March 24th to March 26th to help seniors connect with local volunteer opportunities. The free program will offer daily lunches, educational sessions, and certificates at Mobile venues including the AAA office and USA Faculty Club for retired individuals to learn how to lead community projects. - ➤ A source who released dash cam and body-worn camera footage of the officer-involved shooting death of Otis French Jr. in Bay Minette said federal court filings had a website & password that made the videos available to the public. He posted the footage online to show the truth and hopes the focus shifts to whether all the officer's actions were justified in the ongoing investigation. 1819 News

- ➤ Mobile officials announced plans to honor local legend Jimmy Buffett with a large bronze sculpture to be placed along the waterfront at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico. The Mobile Arts Council is accepting artist proposals until April 25 for work inspired by Buffett images from 2000 to 2015— and the new tribute will debut during the 4th Annual Son of a Sailor Festival in September 2026.
