Emerald Coast Writers seeks its first Youth Poet Laureate by inviting local teens aged 13 to 19 from nearby counties to apply by April 10 with five poems and a resume.
A virtual workshop (March 10 at 7:30 p.m.) and a ceremony on May 3 at the Pensacola Museum of Art will follow.

Last week, Mobile Baykeeper hosted a community meeting at Fairhope Public Library to discuss Baldwin County's rapid growth and water quality.
Residents raised concerns about wastewater infrastructure and stormwater management, while experts stressed smart growth — further tests are planned to ensure safe swimming waters.
