- ➤ Hope Cassebaum became the first female officer on the boards of Alabama Farmers Federation + Alfa Insurance after her December election, representing 17 counties with decades of leadership from Baldwin County. She will work to support farmers statewide. Gulf Coast Media
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of South Alabama dedicated its new $13 million band complex on March 6 at its campus. The 25,000 (sqft) facility offers a rehearsal hall, practice field, studios and equipment storage, built with state funding and alumni donations. AL.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ An audit found that the Macon County Racing Commission did not collect full taxes from Victoryland after its historical horse racing machines began operating in Feb., with revenue nearing $14 million in 2023 and 2024. Officials have not yet responded. AL.com

- ➤ Saraland quarterback Jamison Roberts committed on Saturday to play for Oklahoma. He chose the school for its top quarterback development and run game style and plans to sign his letter of intent in December. The Call News
