Last week, a University of South Alabama math professor harassed Turning Point USA members in a video that went viral, and university officials said late Friday the incident did not align with institutional values.

Alabama Power will spend $259 million on coal ash management in 2026 at six plants, with nearly $91 million allocated to the Barry pond near Mobile (which holds 22 million cubic yards of ash) while earning about $11 million from ash sales to help set power rates.
