- ➤ A state bill that would update the National Guard Educational Assistance Program to allow tuition reimbursements at semester start is stalled as legislators debate funding details — the measure must pass the Ways and Means Education Committee before reaching the floor. AL.com
- ➤ Mobile County school board member Johnny Hatcher (drafting a policy) warned that students could use smart glasses with prescription lenses to bypass bans on wireless devices and cheat in class. Only one other board member has expressed interest in reviewing the proposal. UTV 44

- ➤ Foley native Capt. Royce Williams, a 100-year-old Navy veteran, will soon receive the Medal of Honor for his 1952 dogfight over North Korea — where he downed several jets.
