- ➤ Today, a section of St. Louis Street reopened between broad and Bayou as part of a two-and-a-half-year renovation that updated street surfaces, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, lighting and landscaping. - ➤ Cason Williams, a six-year-old from Bay Minette, won the ALBBAA Big Buck photo contest after receiving the most online votes for his photo with an eight-point buck during a Dallas County hunt. He earned a $100 gift card, a magazine subscription, a hat, and a buck knife. 1819 News

- ➤ High school students will be able to apply to college with no application fees from Feb. 23 to Feb. 27 as colleges across Alabama and nearby states participate in the campaign. The initiative aims to boost early applications and postsecondary enrollment. NBC 15
- ➤ Robertsdale Elementary students raised $4,800 on Feb. 13 during their fifth annual Hug Day fundraiser supporting the Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center Care House, with a Disney theme and school staff and students dressed as characters to celebrate the event's growing tradition since 2021. - ➤ Mobile Baykeeper is fighting a new Sound Science law that stops the state from setting tougher rules than federal ones — rules that many believe protect our waters and seafood. - ➤ South Alabama Land Trust permanently protected 11 parcels on Dauphin Island in December by signing a conservation agreement with Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuaries that covers 4.5 acres of forest, mixed hardwood, and wetlands.
