GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • New chip-enabled EBT cards are being mailed to Alabama cardholders following a successful pilot in December, with new cards expected to arrive over the coming days. Cardholders must activate their cards by contacting EBT Customer Service (instructions require that cards be inserted only and old cards destroyed) to boost security.  Gulf Coast Media
  • State Sen. Chris Elliott opposed a proposed solar energy complex on 4,500 acres near vital wetlands in Stockton on Wednesday, citing environmental risks to Baldwin County’s fishing + tourism.
