- ➤ Rev. Rick Lance announced his retirement as executive director of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions on Feb. 3 after 28 years, effective Jan. 31, 2027. He will work with the board on a transition plan, with a new candidate expected as early as August. AL.com
- ➤ PenAir Credit Union announced today eight local nonprofits as its 2026 Communerosity Charities — including Operation ReConnect and Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama — with plans to provide donations and volunteer support to bolster community services along the Gulf Coast. Gulf Coast Media

- ➤ St. Michael Catholic High School announced that seniors Samantha Grace Kokoszka and Nick Thomas Russo won the Region 1 Class 4A Scholar-Athlete and Achievement awards, marking the school's first double win in the Bryant-Jordan Student-Athlete Program — both will now advance to the next review stage.
