- ➤ Krewe of the Island, founded in 2017 to provide open networking—focusing on community service—is entering its 8th season with a Mardi Gras ball on Feb. 7 at Erie Meyer Civic Center in Gulf Shores; tickets cost $150 for couples and $85 for singles. Gulf Coast Media
- ➤ Special Needs Assistance Station For You (SNASY) has partnered with the City to offer reserved parking, tailgate areas and rest stations at Mardi Gras parades starting Jan. 30 near Colonial Fort Conde at Mardi Gras Park. - ➤ Baldwin County dog lovers will enjoy Mardi Gras parades for pets — the Mystic Mutts of Revelry 2026 begins Saturday, Feb. 7 at 3 p.m. in Fairhope and the Joe Canine Dog Parade Fundraiser is set for Saturday, Feb. 14 in Daphne at The Waterfront, supporting local animal shelters. Gulf Coast Media

- ➤ Mobile marks its history as French colonists founded the city on Jan. 20 along the Mobile River — the fort was later moved closer to the bay in 1712 for better trade access. AL.com
