The Hall Namie Packing Company — a community staple on Iroquois Street in Chickasaw — was mostly destroyed by a fire on Sept 9 when officials said the blaze started in the boiler room and photos taken more than three weeks later show parts of the building still standing.

The Ronald McDonald House of Mobile is celebrating 25 years by hosting an open house—beginning at 10 a.m. on October 20th—to let community members learn about its support for over 11,000 families facing serious medical challenges.
Mayor-elect Carletta Davis held the first Listening Session on Monday night in District 5 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church where residents raised concerns about traffic lights, police response, and safe sidewalks. Her administration will use these community inputs to form an action plan before she takes office next month—another session is scheduled for Thursday in District 2.
